In this rental I worked on, the bathroom was old and ignored (like many are).
This remodel brought a new look, but also important functional upgrades.
I replaced galvanized steel pipe (which is old and prone to breaking – very costly repair!) with brass for all shut off valves. That means anyone can turn off the water – fully! – without leaks.
I put in a new, waterproof luxury vinyl plank (LVP). LVP looks great, modern, and is easy to maintain.
A new toilet also means water saving, and no concerns about drips and leaks which can cost $$$ on the water bill.
Finally, the vanity had a nice bonus – a pop-up drain stopper. I’m only installing these from now on. The pull-up kind always break or cause problems. These push-and-plug style are easy to use and easy to clean out.
I’ve done enough remodel work now that I knocked this job out in four hours, start to finish. And the water was only off for about 15 minutes of that time.
